Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a powder mixed electric discharge machining fluid whereby a surface layer containing a coated modified layer excellent in surface nature and hardness characteristic can be formed in a machining surface of a workpiece, in an electric discharge machining fluid using the powder mixed machining fluid.
CONSTITUTION: MSi2 type silicide powder of 3 to 50g/l preferable 4 to 35g/l, consisting of metal element (M) Ti, V, Cr, Zr, Nb, Mn, Mo, Fe, Co, W or Hi having a 0.5 to 15μm&phiv preferable 1 to 10μm mean grain size, is added to and mixed in a mineral oil system electric discharge machining fluid of hydrocarbon system.
