Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the differential density between an upper projecting part of the green compact and a pedestal part, and to locally improve the strength.
SOLUTION: The raw powder P1 at normal temperature is filled on the lower side of a cavity 8, and the raw powder P2 heated to the higher temperature is filled on the upper side of the cavity 8. The raw powder is compacted by a lower punch 5 and an upper punch between a die 3 and a core rod 4. Because the heated raw powder P2 shows the tendency that the heated raw powder becomes dense due to its coagulation effect, the differential density between the upper projected part and a pedestal part is decreased.
