Abstract:
PURPOSE: The title compolition usable for reclaimed rubber products, having improved, elasticity and toughness, without requiring desulfurization steps, comprising a powdered polyolefin and an organic peroxide.
CONSTITUTION: Finely divided vulcanized rubber, e.g. used tire, of particle size ≤24 mesh, preferably ≤48 mesh, is mixed with 5W50wt%, preferably 5W20wt%, of a powdered polyolefin of particle size 80W150 mesh as a binder. 100 Parts by wt. of the mixture is kneaded with 0.2W7 parts by wt. of an organic peroxide, e.g. methyl ethyl ketone peroxide, as a crosslinking agent.
EFFECT: Molded rubber articles having improved surface finish and uniform properties can be obtained even under a relatively low pressure.
