PURPOSE: To prevent the crush and fly-away of a powdery or granular material such cereals, by providing a flexible pipe in a container for the material and by controlling the position of the pipe so that the lower end of the pipe and the top of the piled-up material are coincident with each other when the material is thrown in.
CONSTITUTION: To throw a powdery or granular material 2 into a container 1 from a conveyance pipe 5, the outlet port 7 of the lower end of a flexible pipe 4 is first placed near the bottom of the container 1. When the powdery or granular material 2 is thrown and piled up in the container 1, a limit switch 10 is actuated to contract the flexible pipe 4 by a motor 11 throuth a rope 8 to pull up the outlet port 7 so that the switch 10 is turned off. The limit switch 10 is turned on and off repeatedly as the powdery or granular material 2 is piled up, so that the material is thrown in as the pipe 4 is contracted. As a result, the shock on the powdery or granular material 2 is reduced to prevent the damage and fly-away of the material.
