Title:
POWER AMPLIFICATION APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2011066599
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a power amplification apparatus which suppresses reduction in output which might be caused by a shift in a differential operation of each amplifier pair, in a power amplification apparatus which combines the output power of a plurality of amplifier pairs with use of a transformer.

The power amplification apparatus 110 includes: a plurality of primary inductors 7 and 8 provided on a substrate in a circular geometry as a whole; a plurality of amplifier pairs 3 to 6; a secondary inductor 9; and a connection wiring 10. Each amplifier pair is coupled to two ends of a corresponding primary inductor, and amplifies and outputs to the corresponding primary inductor a pair of first and second signals IN(+) and IN(-) given as differential input signals, respectively. The secondary inductor 9 is provided adjacent to the plurality of primary inductors 7 and 8 in a circular geometry, further combines and outputs signals made by combining the first and second signals combined by the primary inductor. The connection wiring 10 is provided inside the primary inductors 7 and 8 on the substrate and electrically couples middle points MP1 and MP2 of respective primary inductors with each other.
