Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power amplifier that realizes high efficiency by reducing loss.SOLUTION: A power amplifier 1 for amplifying an input signal and outputting an output signal, includes: signal processing circuits 31, 32, 33, 34 for converting the input signal to output a fundamental wave and outputting a second harmonic wave which has a frequency twice the transmission frequency; active injection circuits 41, 42 for injecting a second harmonic wave into the fundamental wave; and an out-fading circuit 5 for synthesizing the fundamental wave and the second harmonic wave having a phase difference of a half wavelength, respectively. When the second harmonic wave is injected into the fundamental wave and the fundamental wave and the second harmonic wave having the phase difference are respectively synthesized, since the loss, which is a portion where a waveform of a voltage V and a waveform of a current I overlap, becomes small, it becomes possible to achieve high efficiency.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
