To provide a power assisted bicycle wherein rotation can be efficiently transmitted from an assist power device of engine or the like also with a large road clearance and vibration prevention can be attained by a compact structure.
A power assisted bicycle is constituted by a head pipe 4 turnably supporting a handle shaft 3, a pedal shaft 70 rotated by stepping force from a pedal 11, an assist power device 8 supported to a car body frame 7, a resultant power device 9 rotating a resultant power shaft 86 by a result of turning forces from the pedal shaft 70 and from the assist power device 8, and a transmission means 12 transmitting rotation of the resultant power shaft 86 to a rear wheel 14. Here, the resultant power shaft 86 is placed in a position upward from the pedal shaft 70 and an axle 24 of the rear wheel 14, the assist power device 8 is supported to the car body frame 7 in a forward side from the pedal shaft 70.
