To provide a power supply control method and system for mobile terminals wherein a communication media section proper to contents data of the mobile terminal can receive the content data and the other communication media section can automatically receive the content data whose reception is interrupted in one communication media section.

The mobile terminal uses a cellular communication media section to receive the HTTP Response from a Web server so as to discriminate whether or not a communication state of the cellular communication media section is suitable for reception of a content size. When the cellular communication media section discriminates that the communication state is not suitable for the reception, the cellular communication media section interrupts the connection and sets a reception interruption flag. When power of the mobile terminal is turned off and the reception interruption flag is set thereafter, power is supplied only to a wireless LAN communication media section. When the wireless LAN communication media section receives a beacon signal thereafter, the mobile terminal turns on the power. Further, the wireless LAN communication media section transmits the HTTP Request to the Web server.
