To provide a power control system capable of preventing apparatuses located in rooms irrelevant to a facility apparatus installed room from being controlled at the time of operation for starting facility apparatus.
This system comprises a plurality of distribution apparatuses hierarchically connected to a power line, and facility apparatuses for exchanging data bidirectionally with distribution apparatuses connected with the terminal distribution apparatuses through the power line. When the facility apparatuses are operated for starting, a start request signal including a planned usage power value is given to the connected distribution apparatus, and the distribution apparatus notifies the start request signal to the higher order distribution apparatuses by going upstream. The respective distribution apparatuses decide whether or not the start request signal is acceptable based on an allowable power value and a current usage power value during the process of going upstream. If the signal is acceptable for all distribution apparatuses, an operation is permitted to the facility apparatus which sent the start request signal. If the signal is not acceptable by all the distribution apparatuses, a facility apparatus that can cut off power is selected from among facility apparatuses connected to low order apparatuses, with the distribution apparatus that made the decision first as the start point, and the facility apparatus which sent the start request signal is permitted the operation after the selected apparatus cut off the power.
