Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power control unit and a power control method for a consumer having a storage battery, capable of enhancing usefulness of the storage battery by properly controlling the battery during a long absence of a user.SOLUTION: A power control unit is provided to a consumer, who has a distributed power supply capable of supplying power, a storage battery for storing power supplied from an electric power system or power supplied from the distributed power supply, and a load apparatus, to control power in a home of the consumer. The power control unit comprises: a detection part for detecting a long absence of a user in the home of the consumer; a mode control part for setting a storage battery operation mode from a presence-mode to an absence-mode when the long absence of the user is detected; a power storage amount setting part which changes a target power storage amount, when the absence-mode is set, from a first target power storage amount that is the amount to be stored in the storage battery during the user is at home to a second target power storage amount that is the amount to be stored in the storage battery during the long absence; and a storage battery control part for controlling the power storage amount of the storage battery on the basis of the second target power storage amount.
