To provide a compact and low-loss power conversion device which eliminates restrictions on voltages of input and output sides and electric circuit elements which improve the insulating properties of the input and output sides.
The power conversion device includes: a step-up/step-down unit 20; a central capacitor 15; first and second early-stage and later-stage switching elements; and a control unit. The step-up/step-down unit is made up of an inductor, a switching element of the step-up/step-down unit, a diode of the step-up/step-down unit, and a capacitor of the step-up/step-down unit. The capacitor of the step-up/step-down unit is formed of a plurality of capacitors of the step-up/step-down unit. The first and/or second early-stage switching elements are each formed of a plurality of switching elements. The control unit changes an output voltage by controlling each switching element.
