To provide a power converter which controls not to suspend or not to easily suspend a system due to an outflow of a dc component, controls not to suspend the entire system even if abnormality is caused in which a part of restoring is impossible, and performs an opposite tidal current of electric power thoroughly, and to provide an interconnected system using the converter.

The power converter includes an electric power converting means which converts dc power of dc power supply to ac power, and interconnects the system supplying the ac power to a commercial power system and an ac load, a dc component detecting means which detects the dc component of an output current of the electric power converting means, and a current controlling means which controls the output current of the electric power converting means, wherein when the dc component of the output current of the electric power converting means which was detected by the dc component detecting means is higher than a predetermined value, the output current of the electric power converting means is controlled so that the dc component may become the predetermined value or less.
