To solve such a problem that a voltage change when switching the operation becomes a disturbance to cause resonance, and thereby the vibration of resonance frequency is included in the output waveform, in a power converter where a booster circuit shapes a sine waveform partially.
The power converter includes a step-up chopper circuit 10 outputting a part of AC power, an intermediate stage capacitor C2 which removes high frequency components from the output of the step-up chopper circuit 10, a single-phase inverter circuit 20 which outputs the remaining AC power, a filter circuit 30 which removes high frequency components from the out of the single-phase inverter circuit 20, and a control circuit 40 for controlling operation of the step-up chopper circuit 10 and the single-phase inverter circuit 20. The control circuit 40 controls the step-up chopper circuit 10 and single-phase inverter circuit 20 so as to remove the resonance frequency component unique to the power converter, when they output an AC power.
