Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter for feeding a load with power while suppressing the harmonic distortion by connecting arbitrary number of capacitors in a cell in series with arbitrary polarity.
SOLUTION: One or more sets of cell SC1, comprising capacitors C1-C5 for providing a power supply voltage and a bridge circuit for inverting the polarity of capacitors C1-C5 are connected in series to constitute a switched capacitor circuit SC which is then connected with a load Z. The capacitor C1 in cell SC1 is charged in parallel from a DC voltage supply E and AC power supply to the load Z is controlled by connecting arbitrary number of capacitors C1 in the cell SC1 in series with arbitrary polarity. Consequently, an AC high frequency output can be obtained by boosting the voltage of a single DC voltage source without requiring any large resonance inductor or capacitor and a sine wave can be outputted while suppressing the harmonic distortion using only a small filter circuit.
