Abstract:
To provide a power converter which does not require complex control and which is compact.SOLUTION: A power converter 100 according to an embodiment includes multiphase arm units UNT each including a positive side arm 10 and a negative side arm 20. A connection portion between the positive side arm 10 and the negative side arm 20 is electrically connected to a corresponding AC terminal. The positive side arm 10 and the negative side arm 20 respectively include multiple unit converters 11-13 and 21-23 respectively including paired switching elements S-Sand S-Sconnected in series and power storage parts C1-C6 connected in parallel with the paired switching elements S-Sand S-S, and include auxiliary switching elements SC1-SC4 provided on paths for parallelly connecting the adjacent power storage parts C1-C6. The power storage part C1 of the unit converter 11 and the power storage part C4 of the unit converter 21 are connected in parallel with the power storage parts C1 and C4 of an arm unit UNT of another phase.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
