Title:
POWER FEEDER FOR MULTISOURCE AND MULTIBEAM ANTENNAS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH09116334
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a feeder for a multi-source semi-active antenna employing multi-beam. SOLUTION: The feeder is made up of a) a non-orthogonal beam generating device 65 to generate Na-sets of output signals by dividing Nb-sets of beam input signals and combining them, b) Na-sets of amplifier modules 64, and c) an orthogonal output power splitter 63 arranged between the amplifier modules 64 and Ne-sets of radiation elements 61. Then the numerals Nb, Na, Ne are selected under the condition of Nb<=Na<=Ne, and the distribution of the Nb-sets of beam signals at the input of the power slitter 63 is converted into the designated output distribution of the Nb-sets of beam signals by the orthogonal conversion function of the power splitter 63. Furthermore, the amplitude of each of the Na-sets of the signals is equal to that of each of the Nb-sets of beams. Moreover, the phase of the Na-sets of the signals satisfies a condition that a scalar product of each pair of Nb-sets of exciting vectors at the input of the power slitter 63 is equal to each other and a condition that a scalar product of each pair of corresponding Nb-sets of output exciting vectors is equal to each other.
