To supply power to a predetermined device within an internal-combustion engine without an external connection.
A power generating apparatus 10a has a rotary power generator 64 provided in a connecting rod 22 of the internal-combustion engine 12, and an eccentric rotor 66 for applying a rotational force to the rotary power generator 64. The eccentric rotor 66 acts on the rotary power generator 64 and causes it to generate power by a movement of the connecting rod 22. A detector 60 includes a temperature measurement sensor 72 and a transmitter 78, and is provided in a position on the side of a small end 42 nearer than the middle C of the connecting rod 22. The power generating apparatus 10a supplies power, and is provided in a position on the side of a large end 46 nearer than the middle C. The eccentric rotor 66 is easily rotated by a circular movement.
