To provide a power generation apparatus capable of suppressing a drain generated from steam upon generation.
The power generation apparatus 20 generates electricity using supplied steam, and exhausts the steam used in generation. The power generation apparatus 20 includes: a positive displacement expander 22 that generates power in response to a displacement change of an expansion chamber 40 caused by a pressure of steam introduced to the expansion chamber 40; a generator 24 that is connected to the positive displacement expander 22 via a power transmission device 64 such that power from the positive displacement expander 22 is transmitted; and a drain prevention device 58 for preventing drain generated from the supplied steam by allowing the steam to pass through the positive displacement expander 22.
