Abstract:

To simplify installing work by performing installation of a spiral coil insert and removal of a core by one work.

This power installing tool includes a tubular body having a bore 16 extending in the axial direction, a mandrel 20 coaxially arranged in the bore 16 of this tubular body, a punch coaxially arranged in the bore 16 of the mandrel 20, a motor 32 for rotating the mandrel 20 and an air cylinder 30 for imparting axial directional force to the punch. The mandrel can move to a position for engaging with a spiral coil insert and a position for installing the spiral coil insert in the selected depth in a female screw cut hole existing in a workpiece from a position retracted from the spiral coil insert. The punch slides in the axial direction in the bore 16 of the mandrel 20 for removing a core from the spiral coil insert as soon as the spiral coil insert is installed in the female screw cut hole.
