Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a powered lawn edger which is steered with both hands, manipulated practically equally with a handcart and operated without making an operator tired. CONSTITUTION: Concerning a powered lawn edger 1 which can be steered like a handcart, this edger has a Y-shaped or T-shaped frame having a pair of handles 3 and 20. On the frame, a motive force unit 4 is provided between the handles and a grounding wheel 2 in front of the operator. A cutting blade 17 can be rotated with an output shaft 16 of gear box 7 as a center and concerning the gear box, motive force is supplied from the motive force unit through a centrifugal clatch having a brake 14. A wheel stab rod 10 is equipped with a chip deflector 15, and this chip deflector is not moved by adjusting the height of cutter blade 17.
