PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power management system and power management method that mitigate a storage battery's deterioration to make it possible to stably supply power from the storage battery even when power is tight.SOLUTION: A power management system for controlling output of a storage battery on the basis of generation power generated by a power generator and purchase power supplied from a commercial power system includes: a load power acquisition unit for acquiring load power's past actual result data recorded and correlated with meteorological information similar to a control target day's meteorological information; a storage battery use capacity determination unit for determining the storage battery's use capacity on the basis of the past actual result data acquired by the load power acquisition unit; and a storage battery setting range determination unit for determining a use range of SOC for the storage battery from the storage battery's use capacity determined by the storage battery use capacity determination unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
