To provide a power measuring apparatus with a reduced surge voltage and/or surge current applied to circuit components constituting a communication section.
A main body unit 1A of a power measuring apparatus includes: a power calculation section 13 that calculates power consumption in a measurement circuit on the basis of measurement results by a current measurement unit 11 and a voltage measurement unit 12; a communication section 15 that outputs a measurement result of the power consumption to a management apparatus 100 connected thereto via a communication line CB5; a power supply circuit 17 that supplies operation power to an inner circuit; a connection terminal T13 to which a ground line CB3 is connected for grounding to protect the power supply circuit 17; and a connection terminal T16 to which a shield line CB6 is connected for electromagnetically shielding the communication line CB5. The connection terminal T13 and the connection terminal T16 are gap-coupled with each other via a gap arrestor 18. Therefore, when static electricity is applied to the communication section 15 in an ungrounded state, the gap arrestor 18 conducts the electricity so that the static electricity can be released to the ground.
