Abstract:
To provide a gear oil composition, being excellent in power saving and low-temperature fluidity, and having a good extreme-pressure property.
The gear oil composition contains a base oil containing a copolymer of ethylene and a monomer other than ethylene, a weight-average molecular weight of the copolymer being 1,000-3,000, and a copolymer of ethylene and a monomer other than ethylene, a weight-average molecular weight of the copolymer being 3,000 and 20,000, with the mass ratio of the former copolymer to the latter copolymer being 60:40 to 100:0, contains 0.2-10 mass% of an extreme pressure agent containing sulfur based on the total amount of the composition, and a kinematic viscosity of the composition at 40C is 30-2,000 mm2/s.
