Title:
POWER SAVING MOTOR STARTING SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3946175
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-power-consumption motor starting device.
SOLUTION: The motor starting system 1 comprises an overload protection device OLP, a first positive temperature coefficient thermistor 22, a triac 20, and a second positive temperature coefficient thermistor 24. The overload protection device OLP includes a heater and a switch electrically connected between a common terminal C of a main winding M and starting winding S, and a power supply terminal L1. The first positive temperature coefficient thermistor 22 has first and second electrodes, and the first electrode is connected with the starting winding S. The triac 20 has first and second electrodes T1, T2 and a gate G, and the second electrode T2 is electrically connected with the second electrode of the first positive temperature coefficient thermistor 22, and the first electrode T1 is electrically connected with a second power supply terminal L2. The second positive temperature coefficient thermistor has first and second electrodes, the first electrode is electrically connected with the second electrode of the first positive temperature coefficient thermistor 22, and the second electrode is electrically connected with the gate G of the triac 20. Furthermore, the second positive temperature coefficient thermistor 24 is thermally coupled with the heater 32 of the overload protection device.
