Title:
POWER SOURCE CONSTITUTING METHOD FOR OZONE GENERATOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH05116910
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To decrease the capacity of an AC power source with the device in which a cathode and anode are specified by connecting a DC power source and the AC power source in series and connecting both ends thereof respectively to the anode and the cathode, then energizing these electrodes.

CONSTITUTION: The cathode and the anode are specified in the ozone generator which releases silent discharge electrons between the electrodes via a dielectric and generates ozone by the collision of these electrons and O2 molecules. The power source of this device is constituted by connecting a capacitor serving as the DC power source 1 and a high-frequency power source 2 in series, connecting the anode side of the capacitor to the anode from an anode connecting terminal 4, connecting one end of the high-frequency power source 2 to the cathode side from a cathode connecting terminal 5, and grounding the power source with a grounding terminal 3. The high-frequency power source 2 of this device is set at a frequency of several kHz and the operating voltage is set at about 80% of the ordinary operating voltage, by which the prescribed applied voltage of the ozone generator is decreased by about 20% and the cost of the power source and the operating loss of the power source are reduced to about 1/5.
