To provide a power source device for a traveling wave tube of a small size and low cost.
The power source device comprises an oscillation circuit 11 generating an oscillation signal having a frequency optionally selected from a plurality of frequencies; an inverter 12 to which the oscillation signal is supplied from the oscillation circuit 11, generating an alternating current voltage signal having a frequency of the oscillation signal; a transformer 17 transforming the alternating current voltage generated at the inverter 12 at a primary side, and supplying it to a secondary side; a rectifying circuit 18 at the secondary side of the transformer 17, rectifying the alternating current voltage transformed at the transformer 17, and impressing it on the traveling wave tube 112; a frequency detecting circuit 27 detecting a frequency supplied from the transformer 17 to the rectifying circuit 18, and generating an element control signal in compliance with the detected frequency; and a control element 29 controlling the impression of a voltage on an anode electrode of the traveling wave tube 112 in compliance with the element control signal.
