Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption of a power source at a stand-by time in the power source 1 of an image forming apparatus in which option boards B1, B2 of a network can be mounted.
SOLUTION: The power source 1 supplies power from a main power source circuit 2 at an operating time of an image forming apparatus body (image forming unit) and supplies power from a sub-power source circuit 3 to a partial circuit necessary for restarting a main power source start circuit 13 or the like instead of the circuit 2. In this power source 1, a switching control IC 10 of a primary side decides the mounting or unmounting of the option boards B1, B2 from whether sensing resistors OP1, OP2 are mounted on the boards B1, B2 are connected to voltage dividing resistors R1, R2 for feeding back an output voltage Vcc, and lowers the voltage Vcc as compared with the case of mounting when the boards B1, B2 are mounted. Accordingly, the power consumption of the power source itself at the stand-by time is lowered, and hence further power-saving can be achieved.
