Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power steering device capable of securing a sufficient bevel of a worm shaft without sacrificing durability of the device.SOLUTION: In the power steering device having an adjustment mechanism 9 for reduction gear RG of an electric motor 4, a shaft coupling 10 for connecting an output shaft 4a of the electric motor 4 to a worm shaft 7 includes: an external tooth member 11 for rotating integrally with the output shaft 4a of the electric motor 4; an internal tooth member 12 provided so as to engage with the external tooth member 11 with predetermined spaces in a circumferential direction, for rotating integrally with the worm shaft 7; a rotational force transmission member 13 composed of rubber or elastomeric material, interposed in the spaces in the circumferential direction in a compressed state, for transmitting torque between both members 11, 12; and a regulation member 14 composed of resin material having rigidity higher than the rubber or the elastomeric material, and provided so that predetermined gaps exist between the regulation member and the internal tooth member 12 in the circumferential direction, in the spaces in the circumferential direction.
