Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce the cost of a motor-driven power steering and obtain a good operating feeling by providing a right-left rotation detecting switch for making switchover between on and off while the mechanical play of a shaft combining device is moving, and an auxiliary motor. CONSTITUTION:A shaft combining device 7 has plays 11, 12 and right-left rotation detecting switches 8, 9 carry out switchover between on and off before either of the plays becomes zero. Thereby, before a driver actually moves a load side steering shaft 3a by hand after starting steering, the steering can be assisted by a motor 1.
