Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power steering unit that can improve stability of the control by a control unit of a driving motor which discharges a pressure oil for generating steering assistance force by surely and efficiently cooling the control unit.
SOLUTION: A steering assistance force is generated based on the pressure of oil discharged from a pump for circulating oil in a tank 71. Provided is a control unit 60 which makes a rotational speed of an electric motor for driving the pump to a steering assisting speed when steering is assisted, and to a waiting speed lower than the steering assisting speed when steering assistance is released. The tank 71 has a metal heat absorption portion 74, and a metal fin 75 for releasing heat which is integrally made with the heat absorption portion 74. The heat absorption portion 74 is joined to the control unit 60, so that heat can be conducted from the control unit 60 to the heat absorption portion 74. The fin 75 is disposed so as to be immersed in oil in the tank 71.
