To provide a power steering unit which permits efficient radiation of heat generated in the control unit, designing heat release irrespective of ambient conditions, and replacement with a member exhibiting lower heat resistance.
This power steering unit is integrated by an electric motor 4, a hydraulic pump 1a driven by the electric motor 4, and a control unit housing 6a incorporating a control unit for controlling the electric motor 4 which is provided between the electric motor 4 and the hydraulic pump 1a. Steering is assisted by hydraulic pressure generated by the hydraulic pump 1a. In this case, a heat release means 14 for releasing heat generated from a portion by a large current in the control unit housing 6a is provided between the control unit housing 6a and the hydraulic pump 1a. The heat generated by the control unit is released to the hydraulic pump 1a.
