To provide a power storage facility capable of supplying power to an essential load even when a controlling means for the power storage facility is stopped for connecting work or other reasons.
The power storage facility is connected with a commercial system 1 to charge a secondary battery 105 during a period of time when an electric power rate is low, and links discharged power from the secondary battery with the commercial system during a period of time when there is a large demand for power. The commercial system, a common load 4, and the secondary battery are connected and a bidirectional power conversion device 101 is connected between the commercial system and the secondary battery. A first switching means 103 that functions as a system protective relay is connected between the bidirectional power conversion device and the commercial system. The first switching means and an essential load 5 are connected together and a second switching means 104 is provided between the first switching means and the essential load. When power cannot be supplied to the essential load through the first switching means, power is supplied from the commercial system to the essential load through the second switching means without intervention of the first switching means.
