PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a time from abnormal heat evolution of a secondary battery to a start of extinction by a fire extinguishing appliance.SOLUTION: A power storage system 100 comprises: a secondary battery 131 containing combustible material; a gas fire extinguishing appliance 104 for discharging a fire extinguishing agent for suppressing combustion of the secondary battery 131; a monitoring device for measuring a temperature and voltage of the secondary battery 131; and a controller for making the gas fire extinction appliance 104 discharge the fire extinguishing agent when a temperature or voltage measured by the monitoring device exceeds a predetermined threshold.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
