Abstract:
PURPOSE:To facilitate the increase in the frequency of the switching operation of a GTO (gate turn OFF thyristor) by flowing a reverse current from a commutator connected in parallel with the GTO when a tail current flows to the GTO. CONSTITUTION:A voltage resonance type power supply circuit with uses a GTO1 as a switching element is composed by connecting the GTO1 and a DC power source 2 with the primary winding of a transformer 3 and connecting a load circuit 4 with the secondary winding. A resonance capacitor 5 and a power regenerative diode 6 are connected in parallel with the GTO1. In this case, a commutator 8 is provided in parallel with the GTO1, and a reverse current is flowed when the GTO1 is turned OFF. Thus, when the GTO1 is interrupted so that a tail current tends to flow, a reverse current is flowed from the commutator 8 to the GTO1 to suppress the tail current, thereby reducing the loss due to the tail current.
