PURPOSE: To save power consumption, by automatically turning off the power supply to a printer when a CPU does not access the printer at a constant time, and automatically turning on when the CPU accesses the printer.
CONSTITUTION: While a counter outputs a carry at the next determined time after the restart of count operation at a prescribed time, when no access from an electronic computer main body 1 to the printer is done, an output of an NOR gate 25 is inverted to an L level. Thus, the output of an inverter 26 goes to H level and a power supply voltage VDD 4 is inverted to H level. Thus, the power supply at the printer is automatically turned off. The computer main body 1 accesses the printer, than the power supply is turned on for the printer automatically.
