This power supply device for an elevator car includes: a landing side feeding part (5) installed at a stop floor for supplying electric power to the car side of the elevator; and a car side power supply part (6) installed at the car side of the elevator for receiving the electric power supplied from the landing side power supply part. The power supply device further includes: a power supply part moving mechanisms (12, 13) capable of changing a gap between the car side power supply part (6) and the landing side power supply part (5); and a control unit (14) controlling the gap by giving a command to the power supply part moving mechanisms based on the running state of the elevator.
