To provide a power supply device that can bring a ripple current equal to or lower than a tolerance regardless of input voltage.
In a power supply device, a switching frequency is calculated based on a current detected by a current detector 5 such that a low switching frequency is set when the current is large and a high switching frequency is set when the current is small. A high switching frequency is set when the input voltage to an input terminal 1 is high, and a low switching frequency is set when the input voltage is low. A switching element 2 is controlled while regulating the switching frequency such that the switching frequency set based on the current detected by the current detector 5 is not lower than the switching frequency set based on the input voltage.
