Abstract:
To reliably detect a failure of a reverse connection protective element.SOLUTION: A power supply device has a plurality of semiconductor switches, driving means (FET 19-21, 23, and 24) for driving a load (motor 30) by an on/off state of the semiconductor switches, a main switch (FET 22) arranged between the driving means and a power supply, and for cutting a supply of power supply to the driving means, reverse connection protective means (FET 21) having an FET arranged between the driving means and a ground, and for protecting a circuit by intercepting current when a connection is made so that a polarity of a power source may be reverse, and control means (control part 10) for controlling the driving means, the main switch, and the reverse connection protective means. The control means makes the main switch off, controls the semiconductor switches composing the driving means, and detects a failure of the reverse connection protective means by passing current through the reverse connection protective means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
