PURPOSE: To lessen a gap formed at joint surfaces when an E-type core and an I-type core are joined together by a method wherein the direction of lamination of the E-type core is set perpendicular to that of the I-type core.
CONSTITUTION: The direction of lamination of an I-type core 8 joined to the legs 4b, 4c, and 4d of an E-type core 4 through the intermediary of a spacer 5 is set vertical to that of the E-type core 4, and the I-type core 8 and the E-type core 4 are joined together to form a closed magnetic circuit. When the E-type core 4, the I-type core 8, and the spacer 5 are mounted on a bobbin 1, a gap is formed at the joint surfaces of the tips of the legs 4b, 4c, and 4d of the E-type core 4 and the spacer 5. On the other hand, the I-type core 8 comes into close contact with the spacer 5 with no gap. Therefore, a gap produced when the E-type core 4 and the the I-type core 8 are joined together through the intermediary of the spacer 5 is limited to that produced due to the irregularities of the laminated end face of the E-type core 4, so that a gap is lessened as a whole. By this setup, a transformer of this constitution becomes stable in inductance and outputs signals of stable oscillation frequency.
