To simplify a charging circuit by reducing the number of parts for charging capacitors.
In this power supply 80 for motor vehicle, capacitors 72, 72 for stabilizing the voltage of power supplied to the motor are connected to a feed circuit 81 which supplies power to motors 25R, 25L via the part of a battery 43, a main switch 28, a motor drive parts 52R, 52L, and a parallel circuit constituted of a standby charging circuit 82 and a main charging circuit 83 is formed between a main switch and a capacitor in the feed circuit. During the standby charging period from the ON operation of the main switch to the reach of the constant voltage of the capacitor, the power supply supplies power gradually to the capacitor via the standby charging circuit and then quickly supplies the power to the capacitor via the main charging circuit. The standby charging circuit is a circuit in which switch is not interposed, and the main charging circuit is a circuit in which a constant closed contact 86b of the main relay 86 for main charging is interposed. A control part 44 controls constant closed contact so as to be turned off until the standby charging period is elapsed.
