Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a more appropriate power supply controller for a vehicle, which enables a backup operation even if an abnormal state arises in a high voltage battery.SOLUTION: A power supply controller 8 is applied in a vehicle having: a high voltage battery 1 that supplies power to a motor 3 for running the vehicle; a low voltage battery 2; and a bidirectional DC/DC converter 5 provided between the high voltage battery 1 and the low voltage battery 2 and allowing power conversion in bi-directions toward a step-up side and a step-down side. This power supply controller comprises: an input section 8a that inputs a detection signal from a sensor 7 that detects an abnormal state of the high voltage battery 1; and a control section 8b that, if an abnormal state of the high voltage battery 1 is detected on the basis of the detection signal, causes the bi-directional DC/DC converter 5 to start power conversion in a step-up mode and supply power to the motor 3 from the low voltage battery 2 and, after the power conversion in the step-up mode is started, disconnects the high voltage battery 1 from a power supply path.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
