An onboard air conditioning system 100 is mounted in an electric vehicle and uses an external power source and an onboard battery 103 as power source for an air conditioner 104. When power is supplied only from the external power source, the rated electric energy of the external power source is set as output to the air conditioner 104. When power is supplied only from the onboard battery 103, supplied electric energy is set according to the remaining electric energy of the onboard battery 103. When power is supplied from both the external power source and the onboard battery, the sum of electric energies supplied from the external power source and the onboard battery is set to a constant value. First, supplied electric energy from the onboard battery 103 is set according to the remaining electric energy of the onboard battery 103. Then the difference between the constant value and the supplied electric energy from the onboard battery 103 is taken as supplied electric energy from the external power source.
