To obtain a power synthesizing amplifier applicable to the composite number of two or more on the way that the level of an input signal changes.
The power synthesizing amplifier includes an input detector 7 which detects the branched output by a branch unit 2 and which forms the input level information 8; a bias current detector 9 which detects the bias current of each amplifying element 4 and which generates bias current information 10; and a signal processing unit 11 which compares the aptitude range of the bias current information according to the input level information 8 with each bias current information 10, and which determines to be unusual when there is even one amplifying element 4 detected by the bias current which is not in the aptitude within the limits is detected. Since the nonuniformity of the operating state of the amplifying element 4 is detected and the abnormal amplifying element 4 is specified from the plurality of the amplifying elements 4, the aptitude range of the bias current information is made variable according to the input level information 8 irrespective of the number of the composite. Therefore, in the user in which the level of the input signal is changed, it is applicable to the power composite type amplifying device by the composite number of the two or more.
