To provide a power system stabilizer which can reduce the capacity of a storage battery than conventional by restoring a storage battery used for stabilization of a system by charging or discharging it for a short time after use.
A bidirectional power converter 15 converts the output voltage of an accumulator 17 into AC voltage and outputs it to a line L and also converts the AC voltage of the line L into DC voltage and outputs it to an accumulator 17 or 18. A controller 16 converts the output of the accumulator 17 into AC voltage in a bidirectional power converter 15 and outputs it to the line L when loads 1-3 increase suddenly, and converts the power of the line L into DC in the bidirectional power converter 15 and charges the accumulator 17 with electricity when the loads 1-3 are stable. It converts the AC voltage of the line L into DC voltage in the bidirectional power converter 15 and outputs it to the accumulator 18 when the loads decrease suddenly, and outputs the output voltage of the accumulator 18 to a resistor 19 and discharges the accumulator 18 when the loads are stable.
