To provide a power tail gate device which improves meshing accuracy between a driving gear and a follower gear and which increases working efficiency of the power tail gate device.
A speed reducer 32 equipped with a gear case 33 is mounted onto an electric motor 31, and a pinion is provided on an output shaft projecting from the gear case 33. A bracket 76 is fixed to the gear case 33, and a support shaft 41 is attached to the bracket 76. A sector gear 42 is provided on the base end of a lift arm 24, and the sector gear 42 is so supported by the support shaft 41 as to be capable of swinging and meshed with the pinion. In addition, an arcuate groove part 42c is provided in the sector gear 42. A gear cover 51 is fixed to the gear case 33 by a bolt extending through the groove part 42c and a bolt 54 disposed on further outer peripheral side than the sector gear 42. The gear cover 51 covers the meshed portions of the pinion and the sector gear 42 while pressing the sector gear 42 against the bracket 76.
