To provide a power tool which prevents dust and sparks from scattering from a contact surface between a front end tool and a workpiece material, and prevents the dust and sparks from scattering to circumferential areas.

The power tool has a motor, the front end tool 7 being rotated by driving force from the motor, and a protective hood 2 covering the front end tool 7. The power tool comprises shielding members (3, 4, 5, or 6) for shielding scattering matter generated by contact between the front end tool 7 and the workpiece material. One end of the shielding members (3, 4, 5, or 6) to be connected to the power tool is made of a non-elastic body and the other end is made of an elastic body, respectively. Then the shielding members (3, 4, 5, or 6) is detachably attached to the power tool. Further the shielding members (3, 4, 5, or 6) has a service position and a stored position, and the shielding members (3, 4, 5, or 6) can change its arranged location depending on a scattering direction of the scattering matter.
