To provide an electric tool which regulates the push-in amount of a trigger at the time of reversing, by a simple structure, without influencing electric components.

The electric tool 1 has a rotation speed adjusting apparatus 4, the trigger 5, a rotation direction switching apparatus 6, and an operating mechanism 7. The operating mechanism 7 has a first operating member 8 movably supported on a housing 2, and a second operating member 9 movably supported on the housing 2 side separately from the first operating member 8. The second operating member 9 is moved by moving the first operating member 8, and the rotation direction switching apparatus 6 is operated by the second operating member 9. So as to reverse an output shaft of a commutator motor, the first operating member 8 is provided with a regulating portion 8b abutting on the trigger to regulate the push-in amount of the trigger 5 when the trigger 5 is pushed in while the first operating member 8 is moved to a reversing selective position.
