Abstract:
To easily remove a metallic foreign matter located near a power transmission coil.SOLUTION: A method for controlling a power transmitting device to detect a metallic foreign matter comprises: a power transmission coil which outputs power with a power reception coil; a thermal sensor which measures a surface temperature of the foreign matter on the power transmission coil. The method, making the power transmission coil output the power and the thermal sensor measure the temperature of the metallic foreign matter, before the power reception coil and the power transmission coil are electromagnetically coupled and before a mobile body having the power reception coil and the power transmission coil are superimposed, transmits a signal which indicates presence of the metallic foreign matter to the receiving devices capable of receiving the signal except the transmission device when the measured surface temperature of the metallic foreign matter is equal to or more than a threshold.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
