An intermediate shaft 22 is arranged between an engine 12 and a transmission 14. The power transmission between the engine 12 and the intermediate shaft 22 is engaged/disengaged by a wet type friction clutch 24 and also the power transmission between the intermediate shaft 22 and the transmission 24 is engaged/disengaged by a spline meshing type engaging/ disengaging mechanism 26. In the friction clutch 24 and the engaging/disengaging mechanism 26, the engaging/disengaging mechanism 26 is disengaged after the disengaged of the friction clutch 24 in the process in which a release fork 44 as well as a sleeve 40 are moved upto the forward end as shown in a drawing following to the stepping operation of a clutch pedal and the friction clutch 24 is engaged after the engagement of the engaging/disengaging mechanism 26 in a process retreated to the left direction.
