This power transmission device has a main shaft 3 transmitting driving force transmitted from a driving source by directly coupling with a power transmission system on the rear wheel side, a sub-shaft for transmitting the driving force to the power transmission system on the front wheel side, a front side intermittent mechanism for intermitting a front wheel and the power transmission system on the front wheel side, the torque control coupling 9 connected to the sub-shaft, relatively rotatably arranged with the main shaft on the outer periphery of the main shaft 3 and torque-variably transmitting the driving force to the sub-shaft from the main shaft 3, and a synchronizing mechanism 11 arranged between the main shaft 3 and the torque control coupling 9 and synchronizing rotation of the main shaft 3 and the torque control coupling 9 in a state of releasing the connection of the front side intermittent mechanism 7.
